"The most important thing to remember as a planner is that it's not your wedding.  You are there to make your client's dreams come true in the easiest and most stress-free way possible…in the way that they were originally dreamed"

Amanda O'Callaghan

Amanda O’Callaghan is a fifteen-year veteran of the wedding industry in her eighth year of planning in New York City, Hudson Valley and the Central New York area.  At age sixteen Amanda’s love of weddings began while working as a cater-waiter at a family managed banquet hall on the Connecticut Shoreline. Since then, she grew to be the Director of Events at the major NYC wedding venue, Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, for 8 years - Developing and cultivating Housing Works's fledging wedding business into a thriving and successful social enterprise.   From there, Amanda then made the brave leap to branch out on her own private planning venture full time.

Fondly referred to among friends and colleagues as “A-plan-da”, Amanda prides herself on her knack to create "out of the box" experiences for her clients and their guests while maintaining a very practical and logistical approach to the planning process.

Amanda founded byAmanda Event Studio during her tenure at Housing Works Bookstore; spurred by the realization that couples need a planner with not only good eye for design, detail and theme but also they need a planner with actual knowledge, skills and experience in executing a wedding or event in the most demanding and complicated area's in NYC and it's surrounding areas.   Yes, wedding planning is about the beauty, the love, the color pallet but it's also about the not so glamorous things - the meticulous timing, the grueling planning of transportation, legal and contractual considerations and the clean up strategy.   Amanda pairs her extensive background in catering and event execution with her instinctive eye for design and her adventurous approach to guest experience -  Ultimately resulting in a unique wedding that your guests have never attended before.

With locations both in Brooklyn and in Utica NY, Amanda has the utmost flexibility to work with couples planning soirees in not only NYC but also the Hudson Valley, Catskills, Adirondacks and Central NY.  She has worked in, and is well-versed in the operations of countless venues ranging from City lofts, Brooklyn Warehouses, Hay barns, Tents, and even Empty Hay fields.
